Creativity harvest

Sat Oct 17, 2009, 4:51 PM
Personally, I think creativity almost seems easier to come by when it comes out of some form of disapointment or destruction : As Tori Amos once said “The only way to combat destruction is through creation”. Like a coping mechanism, almost.

I also have this feeling that when people recognise creativity, and you start viewing it as creativity, it becomes a harder task. I often get people saying things like "Oh wow, you're so creative", but then it's like "No, I do this stuff all the time"... and you just don't think about it. When you start thinking about it, reproducing different material, it seems like such a challenge.

I haven't written a song in a long time. I released Awesomecool (the album) and submitted it on my website and haven't heard anything since. So I wonder. .... I just wonder. Did it touch the people it was meant to? Did it get out there? It's alot of angst to be floating around in one little .rar file.

Finding myself re-wishing for school days, for better procrastination of the constructive procrastination variety, so I can design album covers and work on track lists and lyrics and presentation. But my enthusiasm is very poor.

However, I recently submitted an artwork into the LCAP (Liverpool City Art Prize) ... I haven't heard anything negative about it, so that's a bit exciting. I always wanted to be up on the walls of the powerhouse, since I was a wee little girl.

Another thing I've started is a vocal vlog. This is to push me along with practicing for my approaching exam. : [link]
[link] I don't know if that will be interesting to anyone but me, though.
